Natural Dye Bandanas Class - 6/7
Get to know plant-based color, plus go home with three natural-dyed cotton bandanas you've made yourself, to wear or gift!
In this hands-on course you’ll get to experience:
- Bundle dyeing using plant dye extracts
- Indigo dyeing using an organic, natural indigo vat
- Immersion dyeing using locally foraged plant material and mineral modifiers.
We’ll cover mordanting (preparing fabrics for dye), basic principles of natural dyes, and just have fun playing with beautiful natural color.
When: Saturday, June 7th 10am-12pm
Where: Farmette Artisan Shop, 22069 Palo Way, Palo Cedro
Ages 12+
If anyone younger than 12 would like to attend please email us at shop@farmette.co and we will see what we can do.
What to Bring: To state the obvious, natural dyes can dye your clothes - and your shoes and skin! We'll have gloves and aprons available, but we recommend wearing clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting accidentally dyed. Weather permitting, we will be doing our dyeing outside under the shade of a tent, so please dress for comfort accordingly.
