Japanese Ink - Art Nouveau "Chrome Yellow"
Traditional Japanese-style watercolors
Gorgeous, saturated pigments
Our studio favorite
Established in 1902, Kuretake came into existence during the height of Art Nouveau, an aesthetic movement that began in Europe and swept across the world. Our palette pays homage to the irresistible allure of color lithography - the beloved medium of art for the masses.
Inspired by colors manufactured in the early 19th century, this bright reddish-yellow ink is the quintessential color of Art Nouveau. The work is a touring poster for the Parisian cabaret Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat).
